In this example, SW1 detects a different STP overhead, SW1 will not use F0/14, nor F0/15, and will even put them into a false dead (err-disabled) state. The switch will also put the channel ports in a false dead state. As a result, the channel ports become inoperable, and the physical interfaces become inoperable.To resolve this issue, the physical interface must be reconfigured to use the same STP settings. In addition, the port channel and physical interface must be shutdown, and then noshutdown, in order to recover from the false-dead state. (Note that when the switch applies the shutdown and no shutdown commands to the port channel, it also applies these same commands to the physical interface.
