A hierarchical network design breaks down a complex network problem into smaller, more manageable problems, with each layer (level) responsible for solving a specific problem. (1) Access Layer The Access Layer provides access interfaces to end devices (typically computers, printers, IP phones, etc.). The access layer also contains devices such as wireless APs.
